OUR APPROACH

Editorial policy

How AI-assisted research and editing, sourcing, updates and corrections are handled.

AI-assisted editorial work

AI tools may assist with research, drafting and editing. An AI editing pass is recorded as an AI pass; it is not a human review, source check or claim of personal experience. The site does not invent author identities, owner accounts, product trials or growing experience. Bylines use “By the Polytunnel Guide team”.

Sources and claims

Claims that can change, including rules, product specifications and availability, need a dated source before they are presented as verified. Product specifications should be checked against a maker's official UK page, specification sheet or another primary source. Figures without a suitable source remain blank. Crop spacing will be included only after it has been checked against an identified source.

Pages awaiting research or completion display their review status. Their presence on the site does not make them finished advice. Comparison pages state their criteria and carry our comparison-method notice.

Updates

The update date records when editorial material changed. It does not claim that every changing fact on the page was rechecked that day. Source records carry their own checked dates.

Corrections

When a working contact route is available, readers will be able to report the page, statement and a supporting source. See the corrections page. The reporting route still needs operator details before launch.
