OUR APPROACH
How we compare
How product comparisons use stated criteria, published specifications and visible research gaps.
We haven't tested these; we compare published specs and independent sources.
Criteria before a comparison
Each comparison should state its criteria before discussing products. For polytunnels, planned criteria include usable space, fixing details and repairability. A criterion is not a product ranking by itself. No product is ranked until relevant source records have been checked.
Checking specifications
Specifications should come from an official UK maker page, a maker's specification sheet or another relevant primary source. A checked record needs the source URL, the date it was checked and a verification status. If a detail is missing or unclear, it stays blank or is described as unknown. We do not fill gaps from memory or repeat unsupported claims.
Limits and changes
Published specifications do not establish how a product performs in every garden or weather condition. They are not a record of our own product trials. Comparison pages should make that limit clear and should identify questions readers need to confirm with a maker or site manager.
An update date records an editorial change. It does not mean every listed specification was rechecked on that date. Where a specification changes, its source record should be checked and dated again.
Commercial links
An affiliate relationship does not establish that a product suits a particular plot or affect the stated comparison criteria. Paid links will carry a visible Ad label and sponsored link attributes. We do not quote product prices; readers should check current prices with the seller. See the advertising disclosure.
